During the invasion of the changelings, Ponryu hears cries of his student, he dashes to the aid of his student and finds her with her friends, he steps in front of them and acts as a shield but scootaloo steps in front of ponryu with fierceness in her eyes. Ponryu is impressed and after the attack is over he will ask Scootaloo if she wishes to become a strider.
